Just to be clear, b12 shots are not mandatory on the hCG diet in any way. They are just an optional addition. hCG works great on its own. That said, many do take b12 shots while on hCG – for those who are deficient, they have stated they had a significant/noticeable energy boost. One woman I had interviewed in the past who was on another round did one with and was midway through a round without them and she felt very tired and sluggish and was ready to order more to fix the rest of her round.
If you’re not deficient in b12, you probably won’t feel any difference but for most people won’t harm you either- you just pee the excess out.
You won’t really know if are deficient or not unless you just try it once, so that is an option.
There are growing numbers of people opting to do the Lipo shots- I have a detailed post on Lipo (which is a combination of b12 + some other amino acids that accelerate the efficiency of breaking down fat supposedly).
As I said, I don’t think they are mandatory but might be nice to try if you have the extra funds. The other thing you could potentially do that’s more affordable to start as your experiment to see if you experience an uptick in energy with b12, before plunking down the cash for the higher absorbancy injections, is to get some sublingual b12.
Here’s one I take:
Pure Encapsulations B12 – methylcobalamin – 5,000mcg per dropper liquid
B12 Methyl Lozenge – 5,000mcg
If you try these for a few days (it’s basically an instantaneous thing- you take it and you should know within a couple hours if that dosage did something for you), and you feel a difference in your energy or mood, then the injectable B12 might worth it for you! Feeling good on hCG is definitely something we sometimes overlook in our planning – because it’s HARD!
I hope this helps you decide!
