For this one, it might sound counter intuitive, but some women in menopause or peri-menopause or even post-menopause need to take an even lower daily dosage of hCG on the hCG diet than is typical.
You may have heard that the typical lowest dosage most will take is 125iu – that is what Dr. Simeons gave his patients.
However, in my research I came across the fact that during these phases in a woman’s life, their bodies will often produce the hCG hormone more often and in higher amounts- what this means, is that some of you ladies may have some hCG circulating in your systems already when most of us only have this during our menstruation week. So in that case, when you take say 125iu or 150 or 200iu of hCG daily on TOP of what your body is making, this makes your actual “dosage” if you will, higher than what you are taking if you account for what your body is already making- which leads to hunger.
So the solution (and this isn’t just guessing, this is truly what has worked well for quite a number of ladies in menopause, peri-menopause and post-menopause) is to take an even lower hCG dosing.
You will still have to tinker with it a little bit to figure out what that exact dosing for you is. Please see my detailed article on hCG dosage in that section for help with actual dosages to give a try. There’s cases where you may need to go as low as 75iu!
And remember, this is not always the case, it’s just some of the time. There are also women who do fine on regular dosings in these phases of life- it just depends on what your body happens to be doing at this point in time.
I hope that helps!
