Original email for context: The issue I’m having is, my bachelorette party is September 27-30, which is 4 weeks into my P2. I want to be able to have fun and eat and drink alcohol but I don’t want to ruin the progress I will have made. So should I suspend the shots during the 4 days of my bachelorette and start back up to finish the 40 day cycle of Phase 2? I want to lose the weight I will inevitably gain on my bachelorette. What do you suggest?
So normally when a person finds they need to be off the low calorie diet for a short duration of time, I reference them to my Interruptions on hCG post.
However, this is kind of a different post where you fully know you plan on totally splurging – the interruptions post tells you to eat super clean P3 on an interruption, which obviously isn’t what will be happening here.
Now, this is not ideal obviously. But sometimes you just know you really want to have a certain experience in a certain setting, so if this is what you have decided in your mind, I’ll share the different ways to handle it.
OPTION 1:
Get off hCG 1 full week before you leave. Do Strict P3 for that week.
If you do it this way, that will give you 3 weeks on P2, but a whole week of P3 style eating to help give your body just enough chance to stabilize a little bit with the hopes that it will prevent having too large of a gain during the 4 day event. If you did this, you might have even more reliable results if you follow P3toLife during that first week. Then you have your 4 days, do whatever you wanted to do, and then when you come back, you can resume P2. Of course I am not sure how much you will gain or how long it will take to get off but I do think you’re most likely to have the least gain in this manner.
OPTION 2:
Get off hCG 72 hours before your trip.
This is kind of the minimum you need to go when starting to eat a lot of higher calorie off-protocol foods and alcohol because it takes 72 hours for hCG to get out of your system. If you go outside that zone, you are likely to gain more weight for the food/alcohol you are consuming. Then when you come back, again resume P2, no loading.
The only possible advantage here is that you may be able to lose more weight by staying on hCG for 4 extra days compared to option 1, however my feeling is this “advantage” may be more than offset by gaining more weight when going directly from P2 into non-clean high cal eating like this.
Overall it’s totally your choice – I think your best chance for having the least amount of weight to “fix” will be option 1, but this is just my guesstimate in thinking over the various factors.
