Question: Today is my first day on P3tolife. I hit 170.8 on my last day of HCG injections and now I am 172.6 on my last day after the HCG is out of my bloodstream. I tried doing an apple day yesterday but I was starving. I ate 4 apples and 1 cookie until dinner and I had spinach with chicken breast. Total of 800 cal with the cookie I ate.
I would still like to lose about 5 lbs in the next year and I am hoping with this program I can do that. I want to keep off the weight and I want to keep going down. I want to add exercising back in P3. Is it best to focus on calories or on the types of foods? Like is it more important that I do low carb or that I keep my calories under 900 for the day?
Rayzel’s Answer:
As far as calories or foods go- I would recommend trying to follow the basic layout of P3tolife which is that what the calories are made of do matter- as you mentioned feeling very hungry even though you only ate 800 calories the other day with all the apples- I’m not surprised by this because apples make you feel hungry! So in P3toLife you will find we have a higher protein plan – having enough meat protein is very important to not feeling hungry while stabilizing this first couple of weeks.
So even if you don’t actually cook P3tolife recipes, if you look at the macros there, we don’t do almost any fruit on P3, and the focus is mainly high protein and lots of vegetables and about 45% fat – so if you follow that, it will help you feel your best and stabilize your best. The reason I don’t suggest doing things like apple days especially on P3 is because it’s a ton of sugar and carbs actually and virtually no protein- the opposite of what you want to be doing on P3- I hope that makes sense!
Also, you will see in P3tolife the calories gradually raise each week which I highly recommend doing- you don’t’ want to stay at 900 calories for long.
