We really aren’t qualified to give any advice on this matter.
What I will say is this- there are plenty of brick and mortar weight loss clinics that administer this diet where you can do it under the full supervision of a medical doctor with lab work and check-ins and monitoring – for someone who has a lot of serious medical conditions like diabetes, liver problems, hepatitis C, other other big health concerns, this would likely be the best route. These facilities would be able to tell you if it’s safe or not for you to do this protocol first of all, and 2nd of all if it is, you’ll have the needed safety net of monitoring.
I think it’s definitely worth investigating this because losing a lot of weight and going through the dietary changes that this protocol requires has the potential to actually reverse some of the major health issues or symptoms you experience.
What can happen is sometimes medications end up needing to be adjusted or you could get sick- if you are diabetic for instance, your blood sugar on this diet often greatly reduces and your medication would need to be adjusted down as a result.
