Actually no, for our purposes where we are using the same mixed hCG vial for a period of weeks, we are not to use sterile water for mixing.
When we use a vial for weeks at a time like this it’s important to use bacteriostatic water, as it has a preservative agent to prevent bacteria growth – very important when we are injecting this directly into our bloodstream.
Where you may have heard of using sterile water is when an hCG injection is done just once (ie 1 large dose 5,000iu hCG for a fertility shot) – in this case since the mixture is being used right away the sterile water would be okay.
All the hCG kits that come from my recommended hCG suppliers list come with bacteriostatic mixing solution from the pharmacy. If you need to buy your own bacteriostatic water by itself, you can do that here: Missouri Medical Supplies
