Original email for context: Ask hCGChica if she has heard of this. Off hcg now, Dr told me to take 1/2 of my dose of hcg for 3 months and follow the longevity intermittent fasting diet.
I had to look this up a bit. The longevity diet (here’s the book).
Here is what one reviewer posted on amazon about what this diet is in a nutshell:
- Eat vegan (with a little fish once in a while)
- low protein / high (complex) carb
- avoid all animal protein
- avoid saturated and trans fat
- eat what you ancestors ate
- Restrict you feeding window to 12 hours or less
- Periodically fast for 5 to 7 days; e.g. monthly
- Exercise 2.5 hours a week / walk daily
- Take a mineral & vitamin supp once every 3 days
I have heard of women utilizing very low/half dosages of hCG on a more continuing basis for moderating the symptoms of menopause. I am not familiar with it for something like this. Maybe it works, I have no idea.
My own personal thing is I don’t really approve of a low protein diet for myself and after hCG, having higher protein than normal is actually wise to help with getting back any lost muscle and to provide satiation- studies show that higher protein meals raise the hormone that makes you feel “done” eating, more so that fats or carbs do. To me this is important to prevent overeating.
But that said I really know nothing about this protocol idea, so if it sounds interesting to you, feel free to pursue it!
I do love intermittent fasting myself- I do it without hCG in regular life. I’m not sure if perhaps a small dosage like that might make it easier? Who knows.
