Feeling a bit crummy on some days the first week of the hCG Diet is pretty common – 2 main things that typically cause this is carb withdrawals and electrolyte imbalance.
The carb withdrawal aspect you kind of just have to grin and bear it till it passes. However – if you do a future of hCG, there is actually something you can do prior to starting your round that often lessens or eliminates this – here’s my post on a short Pre-hCG diet thing you can do.
Another cause of these symptoms though is quite frequently electrolyte imbalance and this can be helped. First the reason this can happen is because the first week of most diets you typically lose a lot of water weight, where you carry your electrolytes, and then you may likely be drinking a lot of water, which is usually a good thing, except that a lot of electrolytes out, and a bunch of water IN with no electrolytes, can make you depleted and imbalanced. There is a fix for this, but I also found a nice article explaining the various symptoms that can occur from the various electrolyte imbalances:
To solve this you can add some lemon and a dash of salt to your water, or try some of the sugar-free stevia-sweetened electrolyte mixes like these ones:
Replacing Electrolyte balance during first week of diet:
- Dr. Bergs Sugar Free Electrolyte Powder (gentlemen in the video above) – raspberry lemon
- Sugar Free Electrolyte powder – Blueberry Pomegranate Flavor
- Lemon-Lime Flavor
- Raspberry Flavor
- Mineral water – something this simple can do the trick.
- Adding sea salt and a little lemon to your water.
Again, it’s just about getting the proper balance of minerals in your system.
These are located in our main hCG resources page as well.
Also please know that even if nothing works, it WILL get better. You won’t feel this way the entire round, usually after the first few days or weeks, you will start feeling much better and more functional.
