Original email for context: I read a bunch of horror stories of people gaining everything back after hCG. I’m afraid that I am now going to gain all the weight back plus some immediately. I’m also afraid that I’ve screwed up my metabolism doing this and I’ll never be able to lose weight naturally again if ever need to.
My gosh girl, first of all, I’m so sorry to hear you read all those horror stories or whatever, because I understand now you can’t unread them.
But I’d like to throw in my own 2 cents to see if helps you feel more at ease.
It has literally be over 6 years since I’ve used hCG.
People gain weight back from this diet just like ANY other diet. I bet if you were to do a poll on the percentage of people who gain weight back by type of diet, the results would all be pretty similar. It has nothing to do with it being hCG specifically in my opinion. The problem is that we (including myself in the past) have not had the tools or knowledge in knowing how to maintain weight loss.
In 2017 I released an entire structured Phase 3 program that women are doing AMAZING on- they are stabilizing perfectly well and in some cases even losing weight, all while feel satisfied with how much food they are eating- if you are really nervous, you might want to check that out as if tells you exactly what to cook and eat and the food is delicious and will really help stabilize and lock in your new weight. That’s at https://p3tolife.com
It’s not required to succeed certainly, but it’s taking all that nervousness and anxiety of not knowing what and how to much to eat out of the picture for people.
But please, I’m sorry you’re so worried, but the hCG Diet protocol is AMAZING. I have a great metabolism. I’ve maintained this whole time. I am able to correct my weight on my own when needed.
Now, I DO think having my fitness routine with crossfit has helped immensely with improving my metabolism, but I do not think I suffered from having done hCG. I believe hCG injections actually preserves lean muscle while on such a low calorie diet, so to me, it means your metabolism is actually in better condition at the end of the diet than if you had done some other low calorie diet without hCG.
I think honestly that if you wanted to lose weight, you are lucky you found the best and healthiest way to do it by finding the injections instead of just like eating 1000 calories a day with nothing- that in my opinion would have done more damage than this protocol.
I really think you will be okay, and like I said, if you really don’t feel confident with what to eat right now, the P3 program may be a good fit for you as well.
I have another article that address 5 negative things people say about hCG (and my answer to these) that discusses this and other stuff in more detail that might help put you at ease.
