Original email for context: I have started my second go on HCG. The first time, I started at 190lbs. I eventually found that 125 IU of HCG worked best but I started at 150 and went down from there. I lost 20 pounds! but in December I was on a major medication and lost all control, gaining 10 pounds back :o( I was on P3 for 10 weeks. I just started my second round of HCG and started at 150 IU. But I am STARVING starting at around 5pm and it continues until I go to bed. Should I go higher? or should I just go down to 125 IU? My goal is 150 pounds
I see your conundrum a little here!
It seems to make sense that since you felt great on 125iu on your prior round, that 125iu would likely be the right dose for you again right now- usually once you feel less hungry on a lower dosing, a person doesn’t usually need to raise it back up again – the dosage changes once hunger is dialed in is almost always going to be down.
That said, your conundrum is that your hunger pattern seems to indicate the opposite. Usually if you take your dose of hCG in the morning, and you feel mostly fine until much later in the day before getting so hungry like you, this seems to tell us that your dosage is actually too low- where the dose is giving you enough non-hunger effect for several hours after the dose, but then wearing down to the point that later in the day it’s now not enough causing you the hunger.
In this case, here’s a couple suggestions on what you could possibly try so that you can figure it out while trying not to be miserable:
Depending on what time of the day you are reading this, one or the other option might appeal to you to try first.
If it’s morning and you haven’t taken your dose yet – try the lower 125iu dosing that morning.Try to keep everything else about your day the same as yesterday as far as eating times and your activity level to minimize other factors. You should notice whether or not you now feel hungrier even earlier in the day than usual or not. IF YOU DO FEEL HUNGRIER…try then taking immediately (like that afternoon/evening,whenever you feel this) a small dose of say 50 iu (making your effective total dose for that day 175iu- 25 iu higher than you were taking before). If you feel better pretty soon, that should tell you that you do need that bigger dosing and minimize the time period you are super uncomfortable with hunger.
If you’ve taken 150iu already today for instance, try taking just a little bit of hCG around the time you are starving- say like 25iu even – and see if your hunger changes at that time. If it does, that gives you more a clue that you do need more. If it makes you more hungry then you’ll know it’s probably too much. With this method of course, you risk having to be hungry a little longer because in this case, if it’s too much hCG, you just have to wait awhile until it leaves your bloodstream whereas not having enough hCG and hunger you can just add some for more immediate relief.
If you find yourself doing option 2 and it makes you hungrier, you can handle that by using my “cheat without cheating on the hCG diet” measures to get you by till the next day.
