Original email for context: I’m on P2D11 (including 2 loading days). I’m down 8.5 pounds since first VLCD. I was planning on doing 23 injections total – so I’m like halfway there – but I’m starting to really struggle. I don’t feel like I can make it through 2 more weekends. I bought the P3 to Life program this week – and am reading everything. What do you think would happen if I stop early (like make it to 14 injections) then do my 2 extra VLCDs, then start P3. Will I be able to stabilize only doing 14 injections?
This is a good question, and truth be told, there’s no sure way to know. I have heard 2 things- that one doctor frequently does 2 week rounds for leaner patients and it’s not a problem, and I’ve also heard people doing 2 week rounds who have trouble stabilizing.
That said, I think if you are going to stop early, P3tolife will make it much more likely for you to stabilize seamlessly, and I am definitely in the camp that if you are really struggling mentally on the diet that it’s wise to abort early than to stay on and risk a lot of cheating- so good for you for being truthful with yourself about that. I feel like for most, whatever happened on P2, the most important thing is to have a gradual structured P3 – that seems to win all, which is what P3toLife provides for you.
I’d also like to mention one more thing though, since you have been on the diet only 11 days so far, I feel like it’s possible maybe your period is coming, which can really make things feel impossible on the diet but usually when it finally comes, you feel much better and more capable to handle the diet again. That happened to me. Definitely still plan to get off early if you keep feeling crummy, but also don’t be afraid to shift course if you suddenly wake up in 2-3 days feeling a lot better – in that case you may as well continue!
Oh one other thing I just thought of – are you struggling in part due to hunger? Because adjusting your dose of hCG can totally fix this particular problem if that’s happening for you- here’s my article on that: Guide to hCG Dosage
