A few things here. So of course, the original Simeons hCG Diet protocol only allowed 1 tbsp of milk per day – so of course, you can put that in your coffee but I know that may not cut it for some.
HALF AND HALF (GASP)
For me, while I drink black tea not coffee each morning, drinking mine “black” or with only 1 tbsp of milk was just not an option because I would have pain/discomfort if I drank it without some creaminness (hello possible ulcer? I’m sorry body that I tortured you with diet coke for too long…I’ve worked my way past that but it took a while to heal). So while this is definitely “off protocol” I actually had about 2 tbsp of half and half in my black tea each morning. I don’t feel this was a problem ultimately. And if I lost ¾ less of a lb during the duration of my entire round than I would have, so be it. It was worth the additional comfort it gave me.
1 TBSP OF FAV PROTEIN POWDER
One nice tip that many find tastes more like creamer than the next options I’m going to give you is to put 1 tbsp of your favorite protein powder in your coffee and blend it up well. This matches the texture and tastes closest according to some. A nice choice might be Julian Bakery Vanilla Pea Protein.
SUGAR-FREE FAT-FREE CREAMERS
There are some other sugar-free creamers out there as well now with few calories that you could possibly utilize – again, of course, these are an AP (alternate protocol) option so no guarantee that it will be okay but you can certainly experiment and observe your losses.
I’m honestly not fond of the sweeteners used in many of the standard sugar-free creamers – things like sucralose, Splenda, etc – these are not the healthiest, but if they don’t bother your stomach and keep you sane, they may be worth it in the end for you.
Walden Farms Creamers – Zero calorie – sweetened with Splenda/sucralose
Variety Pack of Creamers – 5 Flavors – includes mocha, hazelnut, chocolate, and the 2 above.
FLAVORED STEVIA
My virtual assistant Li-An said this about flavored stevias “Have you tried flavor stevia on your coffee? The toffee flavor saved me in my past rounds and my current round”
You can also try just using a little unsweetened almond milk or something like that, although I know this isn’t exactly “creamer” texture or quality!
