I personally think Monk fruit sweetener on P2 would be fine. I’d suggest using small amounts to start just to be sure before using too much of course.
I think it’s a quite healthy sweetener- it tastes a bit too fruity for my palate, but I’m trying to get adjusted to it because it’s such a good natural source.
FYI on monk fruit- many brands advertising monk fruit sweetener, are actually selling a product that’s a combination of erythritol and monk fruit. Nothing necessarily wrong with this, but it’s good to be informed if you buy one of these, as I’m also not so sure it’s good to have too much erythritol on P2- I think a little in moderation likely doesn’t affect anything but more might be an issue. This is done I think because it creates a more balanced “sugar” taste to the product.
Here’s a couple brands I found on Amazon:
Purely Monk Fruit:
- Julian Bakery PURE Monk – powder
- Monk Drops – liquid drops
- SmartMonk – powder/granules
Monk Fruit + Erythritol combos:
- Lakanto Monk Fruit – granules with non-gmo erythritol
- MonkZero – granules – with non-gmo erythritol
Even if you stick to pure monkfruit in P2, the monk fruit and erythritol combos would be a great sweetener choice for Phase 3!
