Original email for context: By chance can u take slimfast – 1gram of sugar & 1gram of carbs – on phase 2 of hCG?
I noticed slimfast has a number of different products. To be honest, after looking up quite a number of nutrition labels of slimfast products online, MOST of them are not suitable for hCG- they all seemed to have fat, too many grams of natural sugars from milk products, and too many resulting simple carbs.
However, I did locate the 1 particular product of theirs you were referring to – that’s their High Protein Smoothie – but I don’t think this is suitable for hCG either because it has 9 grams of fat – this is too much fat to be taking in on the diet, and it’s also one of the most unhealthy fat sources as well – canola oil:
Additionally, at 180 calorie per drink, this doesn’t work well as a replacement for just your protein which should be more like 90-120 calories per protein serving, but it doesn’t have enough fiber and carbs to replace an entire P2 meal that’s important for filling you up enough on the diet.
My recommendation if you are looking for some meal replacement sources is to check out some of the protein powders that are okay for Phase 2 instead. These would be used as a protein replacement only, not an entire meal replacement, and they are much healthier sources of ingredients without the fat that this slimfast product has.
