While this is not on the original Dr. Simeons protocol, some use this in small amounts and find it to be okay – if you stick with the lowest calorie, unsweetened almond milks (for instance, one brand I like is Blue Diamond Almond-Cashew milk, which has only 25 calories per cup – in the AP recipes on our hcgchicarecipes website we typically only use 1/4-1/2 cup in a recipe, so that means it’s only 6-12 calories of almond milk per serving.
