Original email for context: If I don’t have a protein at lunch is it ok to eat a little more at dinner, if my calorie intake is still below 500. I find I am more hungry in the evening so I thought maybe this could be a solution.
The original protocol did mention not combining food portions from other meals into 1 – like Dr. Simeons said not to eat your 2 fruits for the day together etc.
That said, many ladies are following a higher calorie protocol where they would likely be eating a larger serving of protein at lunch or dinner anyway, so your idea is not outside of the realm of what could work just fine.
But I might also suggest 2 other things- I’m not sure that skipping your protein at lunch is a good idea – that means that you will be eating protein only once a day on hCG, and this could increase your likelihood of losing muscle on the diet. If you want to stay within the 500 calorie limit, it would be better to save some extra vegetable calories for dinner instead, and be sure to have your protein serving at lunch.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that if you are feeling okay for most of the day but more hungry at night, this actually indicates your dosage may be off and for you might need to be increased a little – see my post on hCG and Dosage here.
Last suggestion is, if dosage change doesn’t alter your state of hunger in the evenings, you might consider just adding some calories rather than changing the placement of your current protein calories. So eat your lunch protein still, AND a larger protein serving at dinner. This can be perfectly fine and in many cases, outside of dosage helping, can be the thing that helps you feel well and continue losing on the diet.
I hope this helps!
