I personally never tried it, and it would definitely be an alternate protocol food since it’s not on Dr. Simeon’s original list.
My hCG interview with Kimberly in Episode 23 of the hCG Diet Interviews ate lean canned salmon on hCG without a problem though! And if you’ll notice below, the calories for 1 can of my favorite brand of canned salmon has only 162 calories – which I believe this can have more than 100g in it, so it’s technically more than 1 serving – if you ate just 100g it would likely be the same in calories and fat as the range of all the other on protocol P2 proteins. I have a photo comparison below to show you this.
My fav canned salmon:
Henry & Lisa’s Wild Alaskan Pink Salmon – 4 pack
One of my favorite simple ways to eat it is just with some mustard and salt mixed in! It’s great for travel in P3 as well – it has a pull tab for opening so no can opener needed.
We have a P2 salmon cakes recipe you can check out.
If you ate regular salmon (not canned) make sure not to eat the skin – you would want to eat only the lean portion of the fish.
So you can see while there is a 40 calorie difference here, the canned salmon 1 canned had more than 100g- I just can’t remember exactly how much, but they are definitely similar once weight is the same.
