I looked them up – they have a few kinds but this one here contains 45 calories and 7 grams of fat per sachet- that is from the MCT oil powder I believe.
If you were doing the original Simeons protocol, you would avoid something like that, but if you are following an alternate protocol that allows more calories and/or allows coconut oil and MCT oil, then definitely you could try incorporating it.
When it comes to coconut oil and MCT oil, I have found that some lose weight just as readily with it, and others really do not. It’s one of those things that you’d have to experiment and see what works for you. I have a post about hCG and coconut oil for further musings if you like.
There is a protocol for hCG that some follow called hCG 3.0 that involves a ketogenic way of eating, while on hCG. They have a facebook group you can find if you’d like to investigate that- just search hCG 3.0.
I did find another type from this same brand that did not contain fat or MCT – here’s a chocolate swirl flavor – this one still has 56 calories per sachet though, and I’m not sure where those calories are coming from, the math isn’t really adding up on the nutrition label- perhaps the chicory root.
With it being 56 calories you definitely would need to allocate for that in whatever calorie protocol you are following- for the higher protocols that involve 800 calories, I can see that fitting in. For the 500 I think it would be difficult as you need enough bulk in your 500 calories to sufficiently fill you up otherwise you will likely be hungry.
Then again I could be totally wrong! If you’re up for an experiment, you can give it a try. If you do, please email us and let us know how it went so we can share it with others!
